Edirol PCR50 49-Note USB MIDI Keyboard Controller
Edirol.
Review - Feature: The controller has tons of options, and memory sets. The pitch/vibrato well are good, and feel nice to work with. Edirol's PCR Editor software, from there website, make assigning custom pan/fader/utils changes easy. Can use midi, midi-thru, and usb interfaces. The display (vertic send) that displays midi info sent, etc, is quite helpful, and if set correctly, will tell you exact values of moving faders and pans, based on those of your software (Reason, etc). This does not mean that they are moving/automatable faders, just to be clear. It simply means that it display number/midi data in relevance to you software.
Quality: It's made of plastic, but it's far from a paper weight. I wouldn't take in on the road, but it's good for in-house. The color and build is appealing, and the pan pots/faders/buttons all function as they're supposed to.
Value: It's worth what I paid for it, but there are better, just not in this range. Most other controller in this range, that I've tried, are level are below, in comparison.
Sound: There is not sound, it's a midi controller, not a synth keyboard. I use it with softsynths, sequencers, hardware samplers and a G5. So, I'll just rate how fast it sends info into the sequencer, without error, here.
Support: Haven't had to contact them.
Overall: It does exactly what it's supposed to, and the drivers are equally good.
